Hiking Holiday

in St. Martin in the Saalachtal

What could be more beautiful in the summer than a hiking tour with your nearest and dearest to discover amazing scenery and the mountain world? There are several hiking trails starting from St. Martin, which not only lead to the neighbouring villages of Lofer and Weißbach, but also to various alpine huts and mountain peaks. Furthermore, you can start out on the path to the Maria Kirchental pilgrimage church directly from the Oktavia guesthouse. A hiking trail which is mainly protected from the sun leads you to the church. The Wallfahrtskirche is also known as the “Cathedral of the Pinzgau” and attracts many visitors thanks to its impressive history.

The Almenwelt Lofer is also well known amongst hiking enthusiasts – its hiking and mountain biking trails are well-marked and diverse. Various themed trails and the waterfall trail are particularly suitable for hiking with children. Particular attractions in the Saalachtal valley in Salzburg are the “Saalachtal Natural Wonders” – the Seisenbergklamm gorge and the Vorderkaserklamm gorge await you with their steep rock faces, rushing streams and impressive flora. The Lamprechtshöhle cave is amongst the largest cave systems in Europe and is an impressive natural phenomenon.
